DAC Support Engineer
The DAC support engineer will serve as the technical expert to the engineering
organization for the support and operation of all functions and features
of the Motorola DAC platform and associated digital head end equipment.
This position will be responsible for the end to end maintenance and operation
of the DAC, video services, and DAC network within the engineering labs,
including interpreting and correlating service outages and degradation
to the video layer and video equipment failures; other responsibilities
include performing fault isolation and troubleshooting.
He/she is also responsible for establishing key operational
processes and best practices on the DAC platform while providing guidance
and support to the development and test organizations.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensure stability and quality of DAC video service
- Isolate and troubleshoot DAC, and associated video network(s),
including VOD, IPG, DAC, CSG, and SRM interfaces
- Proactive management and diagnosis of DAC video service degradation
- Interpret video and audio quality, and IPG/EPG data integrity
- Equipment inventory management
- Check health of DAC network: SEM, DAC, and SRM
- Check bandwidth dropouts and malfunctions in SEM
- Interface with third party service vendors; e.g., Miranda, content
providers, Motorola, SeaChange, TVN, Microsoft, C-Cor,
CSG, etc.
Requirements include:

Engineering Services Specialist
Reporting to the Engineering Services Manager, under direction, this
position is responsible for the management and organization of a variety
of documentation engineering services functions to provide the highest
quality product and designs, including but not limited to document control,
product life cycle management, business process development or similar
engineering and business support activities. This position interfaces
with various internal and external customers regarding documentation
issues, and works with individuals at all levels and in all departments
of the company to develop and implement processes designed to improve
performance throughout the business.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensure the timely, thorough and accurate completion of all projects
- Provide component engineering support
- Support the preparation of new or modified designs
- Use the PLM/MRP system to produce and maintain engineering/manufacturing

Director, Hardware Development
The Director, HW Development will work closely with the Engineering management and technology functions within RGB to help design and develop detailed embedded systems products feature for comprehensive advanced video delivery networks. As a key management member of the engineering development team, this position works across the organization with the RGB product marketing, support and engineering teams to deliver products for complex network architectures. He/she will provide management and leadership to a multidisciplinary RF, PCB/board, and FPGA design/engineering team including managing multiple projects concurrently, coordinating development activities and managing projects through the entire hardware development cycle from requirements definition, design, implementation, integration, system test, and release. This position reports to the VP of Engineering.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage a core embedded systems HW development team both directly and indirectly through subordinate Managers or Project Leaders, by providing leadership, project management, guidance, support, supervision, employee development and staff management
- Conduct preliminary and detailed design review efforts with engineering teams on multiple projects
- Work with other engineering, system integration & test and marketing teams to coordinate efforts

Senior RF Engineer
This position requires the ability to design, develop, and test complete RF receiver and transmitter systems and products based on system requirements. As a Senior RF Engineer working closely with our advanced technology group to take concepts to products, this position will be a key contributor in the development, maintenance, improvement and troubleshooting of RF transmit and receive circuits and instruments.
Responsibilities include:
- All phases of the product development life cycle
- Problem solving, planning, design, calibration, validating calibrations, exercising performance and implementation
- Specifically, this includes design, documentation, test/evaluation, schematic & layout, prototyping, transitioning designs to manufacturing, and sustaining engineering

Responsibilities include:
- Development of digital and RF automated tests & board level diagnostics for high-end video processing equipment in an Engineering/Development environment

Mechanical Design Engineer
Under direction of and reporting to the Engineering Services Manager, this position is responsible for electro-mechanical system design, test and packaging, structural and thermal analysis and component selection. In cross functional consultation with Marketing and Hardware Engineering, this position will work closely with senior engineers, project managers and management. This position uses a variety of project management, CAD and documentation tools.
Responsibilities include:
- Design parts, test and create complete documentation of parts or mechanical sub-systems for new products; definition will be from senior engineer, manager’s direction or specifications
- Design and develop electro-mechanical system packaging
- Perform system level structural and thermal analysis
- Conduct design verification testing and support design of test and assembly fixtures
- Select electro-mechanical components such as air movers, heat sinks and complex interconnection systems
- Evaluate design ideas based on factors such as design-function relationships, serviceability, materials and methods engineering, application, budget, price, production costs, methods of production, market characteristics, and specifications, and then integrate findings and concepts into design ideas

Senior Field Application Engineer
Asia Pacific Region – Location Singapore
Responsible for all duties related to pre-sales engineering and network design work, post-sales installation, and technical support of products in the field, including remote support.
Responsibilities include:
- Design digital video networks over GigE and ASI incorporating RGB Networks’ products; will involve management of service bandwidth, digital-into-digital ad insertion, QAM management, VOD management and digital-to-analog conversions
- Attend important customer meetings as a technical resource
- Travel to customer sites throughout the Asia Pacific Region for complete installation of RGB products and assistance in integrating RGB products with other vendor equipment
- Perform troubleshooting at remote customer sites and provide technical support on-site
- Rotate on remote phone technical support with others in the group
- Manage real time lab environment
- Test, package and ship demo equipment, weighing approximately 40 lbs.
- Perform all other duties, as assigned
Requirements include:
- Minimum of a college associate’s degree or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of one of the following required: MPEG-2 and MPEG-2 transport streams, RF and cable RF, analog video, data networking
- Previous experience in the cable industry is strongly preferred
