HIGH-TECH BUSINESS PRO JEF GRAHAM TAKES REINS AT
RGB NETWORKS
New
CEO to Steer Company’s Rapid Expansion as RGB Serves
Growing Market for Personalized Video Services
SAN MATEO, CA – March 1, 2006 – RGB Networks, the leader
in personalized video processing technology, today announced Jef
Graham as their newly appointed chairman and chief executive officer
(CEO),
effective immediately. In the wake of explosive growth driven by
RGB’s
successful launch of the Simulcast Edge Processor (SEP) in 2005,
the company has brought in Graham to lead the start-up through
the next
critical stages of growth. Founding CEO, Adam S. Tom, will assume
a new role as Executive Vice President of Business Development
where he will focus on expanding RGB’s reach into new markets.
Having
held senior level positions in high-tech Fortune 500 companies
and private start-ups, Graham brings over 20 years of global experience
in the computer and networking hardware, software, and service
industries.
Graham most recently served as executive vice president of the
Application Products Group (APC) at Juniper Networks. Prior to
Juniper,
Graham
was chairman and CEO of start-up Peribit Networks, a leader in
wide area network (WAN) optimization, where he successfully led
the company
through a $337 million acquisition by Juniper Networks in mid-2005.
RGB
Networks, within only two quarters of initially shipping its
first product in mid-2005, has already received approval for its Simulcast
Edge Processor from several top multi-system operators (MSOs)
and
earned significant revenue. With this success and plans to roll
out
new video processing products in 2006, RGB has established a
solid foothold in the market for personalized video processing technology.
Adam S. Tom noted, “RGB’s breakthrough technology has
been extremely well received by MSOs. They quickly recognize the value
and cost-benefits of RGB’s flexible, scalable, high-density
approach. With the company off to such a strong start, we’re
delighted to have a leader of Jef’s caliber join us who can
enhance RGB’s business strategy and help us to continue delivering
high-value products to our customers.”
A proven leader, Graham has a track record of successfully growing
large business units in public companies, as well as small start-ups,
both in the U.S. and internationally. Before joining Peribit,
Graham held the position of senior vice president of the Commercial
and Consumer
business unit at 3Com where his responsibilities included management
of the company’s broadband product line. Graham has held other
key executive positions, including CEO of document management systems
integrator Trident Systems and general manager of hardware and
software divisions within Hewlett-Packard.
“RGB Networks is currently enjoying tremendous success, and
with the accelerating demand for personalized video services, I see
vast opportunity for RGB’s unmatched technology to enable a
wide range of personalized video applications,” said new CEO
Jef Graham. “Building on the company’s great start, we
plan to leverage the unique scalability of RGB’s underlying
Video Intelligence Architecture™ (VIA) to continue to deliver
advanced video processing solutions to our customers that offer
the flexibility that they need to be successful in an increasingly
competitive
marketplace. ”
William R. Hearst III, a member of RGB Networks’ board and
partner with the venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers,
welcomed Graham by saying, “RGB Networks is on the verge of
making a large impact in the broader telecommunications industry.
With its unique technology and Jef’s leadership, RGB has everything
it needs to take advantage of emerging opportunities in domestic
and foreign markets, and across the growing spectrum of video service
providers.”
“Jef has proven his ability to maneuver start-up companies
through strategic growth, as well as to lead established businesses,” said
Jim Swartz, RGB Networks board member and founding partner of the
venture capital firm Accel Partners. “We welcome the benefit
of Jef’s experience and I look forward to working with him again
as RGB enters the next exciting stage, establishing itself as a
key enabler of the escalating personalized video market.”
