RGB NETWORKS ENTERS CHINA DIGITAL VIDEO MARKET
WITH ADVANCED VIDEO PROCESSING SOLUTIONS

Flexible, Next-Generation Technology Simplifies Deployment of Digital Video
Networks Today and Provides Scalability for Tomorrow’s Advanced Services

CCBN 2007, BEIJING, CHINA – March 29, 2007 – RGB Networks, the leader in network video processing, today announced the company’s entry into the China video market with a DVB version of its intelligent video processing product line to serve the quickly changing needs of cable and telecommunications operators. With China’s cable operators making the transition to all-digital video networks and adding advanced services, such as video-on-demand (VOD), RGB’s flexible, high density video processing products will help video service providers throughout the country to simplify the deployment of their networks today, while providing the scalability and flexibility to easily add additional, revenue-generating services in the future.

Operators throughout China are pushing to digitize their cable plant, in order to enable the deployment of new services. With the number of digital subscribers expected to grow 108% to 22.4 million this year in China (IDC), operators need a flexible, next-generation video processing solution that will allow for a smooth migration and the incremental, cost-efficient addition of new services as the demand from subscribers increases. RGB’s advanced technology has already been tested, approved and deployed by all of the largest U.S. multi-system operators (MSOs), as well as many small operators throughout North America and Latin America, with over 1,200 units shipped. These operators are taking advantage of the power of RGB’s Video Intelligence Architecture™ (VIA), the technology underlying all RGB products, to perform a variety of advanced video processing functions at very high densities.

“RGB Networks has already experienced significant success helping operators throughout the U.S., Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean to make the migration to all-digital, enabling exciting new applications, such as video-on-demand, targeted advertising and graphic overlays,” said Nick Hutton, Vice President, Asia Pacific for RGB Networks. “With RGB’s programmable, next-generation video processing products deployed in their networks, Chinese operators will not only experience a smooth transition to all-digital, but they will also be ready to expand their video service offerings and generate new revenue from advance applications without the need to replace equipment.”

RGB’s China headquarters has been established in Beijing, as well as a sales and support office in Shanghai, and RGB has begun hiring staff to serve customers throughout the country.

For a live demonstration of RGB’s advanced video processing products, visit RGB’s booth #2305 at CCBN, March 30-April 1, 2007 at the China International Exhibition Center in Beijing. This demonstration will highlight the flexibility and high video quality provided by RGB’s high density products, including the Broadcast Network Processor (BNP) for grooming, transrating, multiplexing and digital program insertion; the Modular Media Converter (MMC) for ASI-to-GigE and GigE-to-ASI conversion; and the Universal Scalable Modulator (USM) edge QAM.
