RGB Networks Opens UK Lab to Aid European Market Expansion

RGB Networks opens UK laboratory with BCi to ensure RGB’s product portfolio combines world leading functionality with local knowledge and expertise

United Kingdom – September 6 2007 - RGB Networks, the leader in network video processing, today announced that it has opened a laboratory in Southampton, United Kingdom, in partnership with broadcast technology and standards expert, BCi. The launch of the lab will enable RGB to better facilitate the testing of its products for compliance with European standards (such as DVB) and the deployment and installation of RGB solutions throughout Europe.

“Our existing relationship with BCi meant that we were already aware of their excellent DVB testing facilities and the company’s high level of expertise,” said Dan Schoo, Vice President, Engineering, RGB Networks.  “Having our own laboratory in the UK and access to BCi’s specialist knowledge of DVB standards will enable RGB to accelerate its European expansion.”

RGB’s new UK lab will facilitate tasks including:

  • DVB-compliance testing
  • Adapting RGB solutions for specific European working practices
  • Systems integration and acceptance and interoperability testing for RGB deployments
  • Reception of local satellite test feeds that cannot be received at RGB’s U.S. lab

“We are pleased to be part of RGB’s future plans and look forward to working closely alongside its skilled UK-based engineering team to enable the company to be as successful in Europe as it has been in the Americas. I am confident that together BCi and RGB will utilize the Southampton lab to ensure that RGB offers localized solutions ideal for the European broadcast market,” said Mark Hooper, Operations Director, BCi.

“We know that there’s a great deal of demand in Europe for our innovative solutions. The launch of this lab will help us to take our industry-leading products and apply local expertise so that our customers gain unrivalled business benefits from deploying RGB’s advanced video processing solutions in their networks,” says Sarah Hackforth, Vice President, EMEA, RGB Networks.
