NETWORK VIDEO PROCESSING LEADER RGB NETWORKS
ENTERS EUROPEAN DIGITAL VIDEO MARKET

RGB to Expand Reach with DVB Products Following Success
in North America and Latin America

IBC 2006, AMSTERDAM – September 8, 2006 – RGB Networks, the leader in network video processing, today announced that the company will be expanding operations into Europe to serve the video processing needs of cable and telecom operators with DVB versions of its video-intelligent products. With the accelerating rollout of advanced, high-bandwidth digital services, such as high-definition television (HDTV) and video-on-demand (VOD), as well as new network architectures, including switched digital video and IPTV, RGB’s high density video processing products will help European operators to optimize bandwidth, simplify network architectures and reduce operational costs.

The deployment of advanced services and architectures opens up new revenue-generating opportunities for operators worldwide. A major challenge to realizing this revenue is efficiently manipulating and managing the rapidly growing number of digital MPEG-2 and H.264 video and audio streams. To meet these video processing demands, operators must deploy scalable and flexible solutions that can match the growth and programming expansion of their networks. Large and small operators throughout North America and Latin America are already taking advantage of the power of RGB’s Video Intelligence Architecture™ (VIA), the technology underlying all RGB products, to provide the flexibility to perform a variety of advanced video processing functions at very high densities.

“As European cable and telecom operators make the move to generate new revenue through the deployment of high-bandwidth services, such as HDTV and VOD, video processing requirements are becoming significantly more complex. As we’ve experienced in other markets, operators need a flexible solution that provides a competitive edge while improving bandwidth efficiency, simplifying network architectures and saving capital and operational expenditures,” said Jef Graham, CEO of RGB Networks. “Based on our unique Video Intelligence Architecture, RGB’s high density video processing products will help European service providers to deliver high quality, advanced video services while reducing complexity and cost.”

RGB is in the process of establishing a sales and support operation in Europe and will introduce a DVB version of its Broadcast Network Processor (BNP), the industry’s highest density digital video processing solution, for European deployment in the first quarter of 2007. For a live demonstration of RGB’s Broadcast Network Processor visit ARRIS’ stand #5.211 at IBC, September 8-12, 2007 at the RAI Centre in Amsterdam. This demonstration will highlight the flexibility and strength of the BNP for use in today’s broadcast environment, as well as in next-generation IPTV environments, as it delivers high quality video streams at very high densities to broadband subscribers over a modular cable modem termination system (M-CMTS). RGB’s BNP can also be seen at Cypress Semiconductor’s stand #12.301.

About RGB’s Broadcast Network Processor
The second product based on RGB’s Video Intelligence Architecture™ (VIA), the Broadcast Network Processor (BNP) is designed to enable cable operators to deliver highly targeted and personalized video services. Housed in a one rack-unit platform, the BNP delivers the cable industry’s highest density solution for digital video grooming, statistical multiplexing, transrating and digital program insertion (DPI). With the ability to process more than 500 video streams in a single rack unit, the BNP significantly lowers the cost of delivering advanced digital video services. RGB’s Broadcast Network Processor offers the scalability to support current and future network growth, while also providing the flexibility to sustain new applications such as switched digital video, targeted ad insertion and digital simulcast. The BNP also reduces the complexity and cost of deploying these services, allowing operators to focus on introducing more personalized, revenue-generating services.

About RGB Networks
RGB Networks delivers extremely high-density, flexible video processing solutions that enable video service providers to deliver highly targeted and personalized video content at considerably lower costs than today’s solutions. Based on its unique Video Intelligence Architecture™ (VIA), RGB’s VIA product family simplifies management and delivers scalable, multi-function capability in a single, programmable platform, allowing video service providers to leverage existing infrastructure, while building an advanced foundation to meet the needs of the rapidly growing market for personalized video services.
