RGB NETWORKS LAUNCHES SALES EFFORTS IN ASIA PACIFIC AND EUROPE
WITH VETERAN TELECOM AND CABLE INDUSTRY LEADERSHIP
Seasoned Global Sales Executives Nick Hutton and Sarah
Hackforth to Spearhead RGB’s International Growth
SAN MATEO, CA – November 15, 2006 – RGB Networks, the leader in network video processing, today announced two key additions to RGB’s management team that will strategically position and launch sales efforts for the company in critical regions of the global telecommunications marketplace. Nick Hutton, a 17-year veteran of the Asia Pacific telecom market, joins RGB as Vice President of Sales overseeing the Asia Pacific region; and recognized cable industry sales and marketing professional Sarah Hackforth brings over 15 years of cable television experience to her new role as Vice President of Sales for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
“Both Nick and Sarah bring valuable skill sets and a wealth of contacts and experience within their respective regions to RGB’s international sales efforts. Nick’s extensive background in IPTV and Sarah’s thorough knowledge of the cable industry will enable us to significantly broaden the reach of our Video Intelligence Architecture™ throughout the global telecommunications community,” said Jef Graham, CEO of RGB Networks. “RGB’s success and excellent reputation in the Americas, combined with the expertise and professional standing of these two leaders within their respective markets, will enable RGB to break through into the Asia Pacific and European markets.”
Hutton joins RGB from Alcatel where he served as Chief Marketing Officer for Asia Pacific. He started his tech career with Apple in the United Kingdom and then later ran Asia Pacific sales for Newbridge Networks and 3Com CommWorks. Hutton is extremely familiar with telco IPTV video environments and brings substantial experience in building businesses across multiple markets.
Hackforth joins RGB most recently from Entone, where she served as Vice President of Sales and Operations for EMEA. Prior to Entone, she held similar positions at Terayon and Motorola. Hackforth’s prior experience with these industry players has made her thoroughly familiar with the technology behind cable television as well as the motivations driving the EMEA video marketplace.
These two strategic additions to the RGB management team are the first step in establishing sales and support operations throughout the EMEA and Asia Pacific regions. Having already shipped over 1,000 VIA family products to customers throughout the Americas, RGB will build on this acceptance and momentum to bring RGB’s high density video processing solutions to new markets. RGB’s Broadcast Network Processor (BNP)—the industry’s highest density digital video processing solution—will be available with features for the international market in the first quarter of 2007.
About RGB’s Broadcast Network Processor
The second product based on RGB’s Video Intelligence Architecture™ (VIA), the Broadcast Network Processor (BNP) is designed to enable cable operators to deliver highly targeted and personalized video services. Housed in a one rack-unit platform, the BNP delivers the cable industry’s highest density solution for digital video grooming, statistical multiplexing, transrating and digital program insertion (DPI). With the ability to process more than 500 video streams in a single rack unit, the BNP significantly lowers the cost of delivering advanced digital video services. RGB’s Broadcast Network Processor offers the scalability to support current and future network growth, while also providing the flexibility to sustain new applications such as switched digital video, targeted ad insertion and digital simulcast. The BNP also reduces the complexity and cost of deploying these services, allowing operators to focus on introducing more personalized, revenue-generating services.
