RGB NETWORKS EXPANDS GLOBAL SALES EFFORTS INTO
ASIA PACIFIC REGION WITH EXECUTIVE ADDITION
Nick Hutton Brings Extensive Knowledge of IPTV and AsiaPac Telecom Market
to Role as Vice President of Sales for Asia Pacific
HONG KONG – December 6, 2006 – RGB Networks, the leader in network video processing, today announced the hiring of Nick Hutton as Vice President of Sales, Asia Pacific. Hutton’s addition is RGB’s first step in establishing sales and support operations in the Asia Pacific region. A 17-year veteran of the AsiaPac telecommunications industry, Hutton joins RGB from Alcatel where he served as Chief Marketing Officer for Asia Pacific.
“As the demand for advanced video services grows worldwide, we see a tremendous need for RGB’s flexible digital video processing solutions in the developing Asia Pacific region. Nick’s extensive knowledge of the IPTV industry and relationships with key operators in the region will enable us to expand our reach and bring the substantial benefits of our Video Intelligence Architecture™ to telco and cable operators throughout AsiaPac,” said Jef Graham, CEO of RGB Networks. “Nick’s proven experience in building businesses across the region will be invaluable as RGB continues to broaden our VIA product line with solutions that enable and simplify the delivery of personalized video services.”
Hutton brings to RGB over 17 years of experience in the Asia Pacific telecom market. In his role as CMO at Alcatel, Hutton was responsible for the overall management of marketing and communications programs in Asia Pacific to drive the company’s business growth in the region, as well as for business development for the carrier market, focusing on triple-play, convergence and managed communication services. Previously, Hutton was Vice President, Asia Pacific for CommWorks where he was responsible for setting up and leading a team to build and grow the company’s carrier business across the Asia Pacific region. Prior to CommWorks, Hutton served as Vice President/General Manager of the Alcatel/Newbridge Networks Carrier Data Division for Asia Pacific, where he established strong relationships and worked closely with all of the major telecom operators in the region. Prior to that time, Hutton spent fifteen years at Apple Computer in the United Kingdom, Hong Kong and Singapore.
“Video service providers throughout the Asia Pacific region are looking for solutions that will help them to alleviate their bandwidth constraints and easily and efficiently deliver on-demand, personalized video services to their subscribers. I am very impressed with what RGB Networks has already achieved in these areas—with outstanding products and visionary leadership, RGB has established a strong reputation throughout the Americas for technical achievement and innovation,” said Hutton. “Utilizing my knowledge and relationships, I will share the advantages of RGB’s flexible solutions with video service providers throughout the Asia Pacific marketplace and strive to help them to have the same success rolling out new digital video services as has RGB’s stellar customer list of top U.S. cable operators.”
RGB is quickly establishing a presence in the Asia Pacific region, having already opened sales and support offices in Singapore and Shanghai, China. Having recently marked the milestone shipment of their 1,000th VIA family product, RGB is building on this strong acceptance in the U.S., Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean to bring their high density video processing solutions to new markets around the world. In addition to expanding into AsiaPac, RGB is also making a significant push into Europe with the recent hiring of Sarah Hackforth as Vice President of Sales for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). RGB’s Broadcast Network Processor (BNP)—the industry’s highest density digital video processing solution—will be available with features for the international market in the first quarter of 2007.
