RGB NETWORKS INITIATES PRODUCTION OF VIDEO INTELLIGENCE WITH APPOINTMENT OF OPERATIONS DIRECTOR
Michael Lee Brings a Seasoned Manufacturing Veteran's Perspective to RGB Networks
SAN MATEO, CA July 19, 2004 RGB Networks, the Silicon Valley-based innovator of software and hardware solutions for video and data delivery, today announced the appointment of Michael Lee as Senior Director of Operations. Lee formerly held the same position with 3PARdata, where he developed turnaround strategies that quickly restored the struggling product manufacturer to profitability.
As RGB Networks moves from development to production of their Video Intelligence Architecture (VIA), Lee will oversee design and implementation of manufacturing strategy for the company's advanced video processors launching later this year.
"We are proud to welcome Michael to our team," said RGB Networks President and CEO, Adam S. Tom. "Michael's significant experience in the field of operations strategy and his proven track record for advancing production and revenue growth will provide us invaluable direction as we move forward with manufacturing of our VIA products."
Lee brings with him over 20 years' experience in manufacturing and supply chain disciplines. Prior to 3PAR, Lee served as vice president of operations at SAN Valley Systems defining strategies that ensured advancement in production volume while improving time to market and reducing manufacturing costs. As director of operations at COM21 Inc., a broadband communications infrastructure start-up, Lee drove delivery of $100 million of products from introduction to production. Before that, he developed a supply chain model to support $50 million of revenue growth while acting as senior manager of operations at Axil Computer, Inc., a subsidiary of Hyundai Electronic of America.
Lee, who has also held senior management positions at companies such as Sun Microsystems, Net Power Inc., Wiltron and Fairchild Semiconductor, holds a Bachelors of Science degree from Cogswell College and has completed numerous technical and business programs at the University of California.
RGB Networks designs and builds powerful, interoperable, open protocol-based video processing and bandwidth management products that allow cable operators and other video service providers to leverage existing network investments to deliver advanced, secure, revenue-generating services. Based on a unique Video Intelligence Architecture (VIA), the RGB solutions enable video service providers to route, switch, process and distribute video streams at rates and densities that are an order of magnitude greater than today's video processing and distribution equipment, and at considerably lower costs.
