RGB NETWORKS HITS GROUND RUNNING WITH LATEST MANAGEMENT ADDITION
Convergence Expert Ramin Farassat to Guide Marketing Efforts for RGB's Video Intelligence Architecture
SAN MATEO, CA July 7, 2004 On the heels of RGB Networks' emergence last month, the Silicon Valley-based innovator of software and hardware solutions for video and data delivery announced today they've appointed Ramin Farassat, formerly of SkyStream Networks, as their new director of product marketing. Farassat will head the development and coordination of RGB's marketing efforts as they prepare for the launch of their Video Intelligence Architecture (VIA) later this year.
"Ramin's extensive background in cable, coupled with his vast technical expertise in marketing triple-play applications will play a vital role in driving our VIA technology to market," said Adam Tom, RGB Networks' CEO. "His contributions will prove invaluable to our success in the months ahead."
An expert in the convergence of data and broadcast networks, video services, voice-over IP (VoIP), broadband wireless, network management, and security technologies, Farassat boasts more than 17 years of experience in the data, voice and video networking industry. While at SkyStream, Farassat held dual roles as director of marketing and broadcast technologies architect, responsible for developing company product initiatives, technology specifications and corporate strategy.
Prior to SkyStream, Farassat served as technical marketing and service provider solutions manager for Cisco Systems and as senior architect and consultant at Compaq Computers (Hewlett-Packard).
RGB Networks designs and builds powerful, interoperable, open protocol-based video processing and bandwidth management products that allow cable operators and other video service providers to leverage existing network investments to deliver advanced, secure, revenue-generating services. Based on a unique Video Intelligence Architecture (VIA), the RGB solutions enable video service providers to route, switch, process and distribute video streams at rates and densities that are an order of magnitude greater than today's video processing and distribution equipment, and at considerably lower costs.
