FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
RGB Networks to Showcase Multiscreen Video Delivery at CSTB in Moscow
Demonstrations to highlight cost–effective route for extending video services to tablets, smartphones and PCs
SUNNYVALE, CALIF. – February, 6 2012 – RGB Networks, the leading provider of scalable multiscreen IP video delivery solutions, will demonstrate its award-winning solutions for the delivery of video services to multiple screens at CSTB 2012 in Moscow. Through live demonstrations on its partner booths (BCC #3.474, CTI #3.460 and Data Plus #2.224), RGB Networks will highlight how its Video Multiprocessing Gateway (VMG™)—the industry’s only carrier-class platform for multiscreen video delivery—and TransAct Packager—RGB’s flexible adaptive streaming product, can ease operators’ transition to a multi-device video environment.
As the number of video-enabled devices continues to flood the market place, consumers are increasingly demanding greater flexibility over how they consume content. Today’s customer wants content on any device over any network connection, with video delivered free from any delay or jitter. As a result, operators are presented with both a threat and an opportunity--and if they take the opportunity to migrate their video delivery infrastructure to IP now, they will be able to meet the threat from over-the-top (OTT) providers with a robust multiscreen offering for their subscribers.
On display at CSTB will be RGB’s chassis-based VMG, highlighting how operators can utilize this highly scalable transcoding platform to deliver the integrated multi-device experience consumers are demanding, while saving substantial rack space and management overheads.
The VMG will be shown with RGB’s unique TransAct Packager, which produces segmented output in all three of the major adaptive streaming protocols—Apple HTTP Live Streaming, Microsoft Smooth Streaming and Adobe HTTP Dynamic Streaming—for both live and on-demand delivery of premium content. This flexible hardware- or software-based solution 'packages' video for delivery to content delivery networks (CDN), origin servers, and end-user devices, and is ideally suited for large-scale centralised or decentralised deployments. Additionally, the TransAct Packager encrypts content by integrating key exchanges with leading Digital Rights Management (DRM) servers, works seamlessly with firewalls, and effectively manages and compensates for packet drops and temporary bandwidth changes.
“Today’s consumer wants to view content whenever and however they want,” said Simone Sassoli, Vice President, International at RGB Networks. “As will be demonstrated at the upcoming CSTB show in Moscow, RGB’s award-winning solutions make this ideal a reality, allowing consumers to watch content on the go, at the highest quality. With the next Winter Olympics coming to Russia, operators in the region must plan now to take advantage of the opportunity to create new revenue streams around this major event by increasing their reach to consumers through new devices.”
Executives from RGB Networks will be available throughout the CSTB, taking place February 7 - 9, 2012 in Moscow, and can be found at the following partner booths: BCC #3.474, CTI #3.460 and Data Plus #2.224. They will be available to answer questions and provide a hands-on demonstration of the unique advantages of RGB’s multiscreen video delivery solution.
