Key Video Processing Functions
Uzbekistani Operator Opts for Quality, Reliability and Simplified Operation and Management
London, United Kingdom – March 23, 2009 – RGB Networks, the leader in network video processing, today announced that Color IPTV, a provider of broadband video services in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, has deployed RGB’s Broadcast Network Processor (BNP) as the heart of its video delivery network serving its 12,000 subscribers.
Color IPTV is utilizing the core transrating, multiplexing and digital ad insertion functions of the BNP, with the option to add digital overlay capabilities in the future with a simple licensing upgrade. Through RGB’s high-density video processing Color IPTV is able to deliver more SD and HD programming without impacting picture quality. At the same time they can implement advanced advertising solutions across all channels to maximize their revenue opportunity.
Color IPTV’s system is live with RGB’s Broadcast Network Processor at its core performing critical video processing functions. The operator chose the BNP for this important task based on its proven high quality video delivery, reliability, and simplified operation and management.
“RGB’s Broadcast Network Processor is uniquely suited to meet the network expansion needs of growing operators throughout Europe,” said Sarah Hackforth, Vice President of EMEA for RGB Networks. “The scalability and flexibility of the BNP can match Color IPTV’s programming expansion as they add more HD services, as well as their need to generate new revenues through ad insertion.”
For a demonstration of RGB’s Broadcast Network Processor, please visit RGB’s stand #40 at the IPTV World Forum, March 25-27 in London. The BNP has been shortlisted for an IPTV World Series Award in the category of Best Cable IPTV technology.
Data Plus-M LLC, RGB’s reseller in Russia, played a significant role in the deployment with Color IPTV.
