RGB TransAct Commander

RGB Networks’ TransAct Commander offers an advanced method of managing clusters of TransAct Encoders/Transcoders for file-to-file, stream-to-stream and stream-to-file environments. This scalable solution offers high availability through chassis redundancy and stream load balancing. With a user-friendly web interface and XML API, the TransAct Commander can manage, configure, and monitor each TransAct Encoder/Transcoder RGB_AMS_highres.JPG from a single interface. Like all TransAct products the Commander utilizes a Linux -based operating system for optimal up-time and stability.

 

 

TransAct Commander Advantages

High Availability: N+M chassis redundancy for streamto-stream applications, supporting both SDI and IP inputs, ensures reliable delivery of content and minimal downtime.

Load Balancing, Cluster Management and Encode/Transcode Management: Manages and controls file-to-file transcoding operations and workflows. Supports a single TransAct Encoder/Transcoder or cluster of TransAct Encoder/Transcoders.

Content Distribution: Once an encode/transcode is complete, Commander provides notification of file availability and stores content as a cache asset for future distribution upon subsequent requests via HTTP.

Application Integration: Provides integration with a full set of encoding/transcoding or third-party applications via an XML-based API.


Cluster Management Functionality

Manage All TransAct Encoder/Transcoders from a Single Interface: With Commander access all of your configurations for each Encoder/Transcoder to simplify operations and improve efficiency.

Streaming of Transcoded Files for Mobile and Internet: Provides streaming workflow management across multiple applications – file-to-file, stream-to-steam and stream-to-file.

Cluster Load Balancing: Responsible for balancing workload across all Encoders/Transcoders in the cluster based on demand.

Cluster Workflow Configuration: Workflow cluster configuration is easily performed via the web interface.

Cluster Software Update: Provides the capability to update software across a cluster of Encoders/Transcoders.

Cluster Database Backup/Restore: Manages back-up of the cluster workflow configuration database.

Server Failover: Standby TransAct Commander servers can be installed per Encoder/Transcoder providing a warm failover capability in case of Commander failure.

N+M redundancy: Supports up to 20 Encoders/Transcoders in the redundancy group with up to 16 active Encoders/Transcoders for both SDI and IP input.

SDI Integration: Fully integrated with supported SDI routers.
