The Battle for Bandwidth:
Optimize your bandwidth without costly
network upgrades

There has been a recent explosion of bandwidth-consuming services, with two of the most popular being high definition television (HDTV) and video-on-demand (VOD). A single HD stream consumes the same space as approximately three standard definition streams and consumers continue to demand more and more. With HDTV being a major factor in the competition for video subscribers, operators must deliver in order to stay in the game.

Based on sophisticated video processing technology, RGB’s advanced products allow digital video providers to perform bandwidth optimization in broadcast, VOD and switched digital video (SDV) environments, without the headaches and expense of other methods, quickly making room for the delivery of more revenue-generating services.

RGB and the NCTC

RGB has been working closely with a number of NCTC member companies to help upgrade their networks as they transition to all-digital. RGB’s high-density Simulcast Edge Processor (SEP) continues to lead the industry, providing a simplified solution for digital simulcast edge decoding applications, while RGB’s multi-function Broadcast Network Processor (BNP) provides operators with a cost-efficient solution for a variety of digital video applications, including grooming, transrating, digital program insertion and graphic overlays. In addition, RGB’s Video Multiprocessing Gateway (VMG) for high-density ASI-to-GigE conversion is helping operators make a smooth transition from legacy infrastructure.
